This beach is a bit far from our tents... but about 8 times a year they have what is known as an Arribada. Thousands of turtles come to lay their eggs on the beach at the same time, and stay a few days in the area. It is a wonderful natural phenomenon. If you are lucky enough to be in Guanacaste when the arribada occurs, our suggestion is to change any plans you had and go to Ostional. As the turtles come out at sunset, we recommend you to take a full day trip and visit the wonderful beaches you will find on the way, such as Lagarto, Marbella and San Juanillo.
